Manual Shore Stations

Latitude:33° 25.08’ N
Longitude:117° 37.20’ W
Operational since March 1964
Measurements Taken
San Clemente Shore Station

Personnel of the Department of Marine Safety take daily temperatures and salinity samples from the San Clemente pier, and return the salinity samples to Scripps monthly. This station, which was established to take over monitoring from the old Dana Point station (1955-70), is so similar that the long record for this area is still preserved.

Please note: manual shore station data is updated periodically, not continuously. As a result, the SCCOOS data repository may lag behind the actual data collection. Thank you for your patience.
Special thanks to the SIO Manual Shore Stations program for providing data and information about these studies. For further information, please visit the SIO Manual Shore Stations website at http://shorestation.ucsd.edu
